Methodology: iRacing publishes no car release date, so t=0 is the first season a car appeared in an official race within the analysis window; cars named [Legacy]/[Retired] are excluded (old cars returning to official series). Cars already racing when the dataset begins (20s4) appear with a 2020 first-appearance year — a data boundary, not a release date. A car must actually share races with other cars of its class to count as multimake (detected race by race): single-make cars and cars whose only "multimake" appearances are weekly-rotation novelty formats are excluded. Share of entries is measured only in multimake (series, car-class) contexts using iRacing's entry semantics (teams count once, solo drivers once). Relative share compares a car's share against the average share of the other cars in its class (1.0 = parity). Paid cars qualify as well-received at 0.85 relative share (a discount for the purchase barrier); free cars need 1.0. Cars with fewer than 20 total entries are not classified.
